Events Lead

Shisla is the Events Lead of the LANZBC YPN.

She identifies as a Brazilian Kiwi, having grown up in Brazil and moving to New Zealand when she was 13. Shisla's experience in bridging two distinct cultures and ways of life together has shaped her identity and made her passionate about connecting Aotearoa and Latin America.

Shisla completed a BCom in Economics and International Business at the University of Auckland. She was granted the Prime Ministers Scholarship for Latin America to participate in the Tecnológico de Monterrey’s iWinterMX programme, in which she studied at four different Mexico campuses. She has also been granted a number of scholarships by the University of Auckland’s international office, including for the participation in the Programme on Brazilian studies through the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.

Shisla previously worked at the University of Auckland as a Research Assistant, and is now working for the New Zealand Government. She is one of the 22 graduates of the first ever intake of the Ministry for Ethnic Communities graduate program. She currently works as a Graduate Policy Analyst at the New Zealand Customs Service.

Shisla is passionate about promoting the development of young people and making our generation heard, and representing New Zealand rangatahi on the world stage for APEC 2021 Voices of the Future.
