Laetitia Laubscher

As President of the LANZBC Young Professionals Network, Laetitia is responsible for directing the long- and short-term vision of the Young Professionals Network and building – alongside her highly capable team – a flourishing network that successfully fosters young New Zealand leaders’ connections with Latin America.

Laetitia has worked in Latin America as a communications consultant for the United Nations Development Programme, and as an international law research assistant for the reputable Chilean think tank Espacio Público. She holds a law degree from the University of Auckland, a film degree from Victoria University and a postgraduate certificate in Antarctic Studies from the University of Canterbury. During her studies towards her law degree, she was awarded the Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Latin America to go on exchange to the renowned Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile for a semester. She is currently working as a consultant in both a legal and communications capacity.

Laetitia is originally from South Africa, but has called New Zealand home for over half her life, and currently lives in Auckland. She is passionate about languages, speaking English, Afrikaans and Spanish, some French and started learning Arabic during the COVID-19 lockdown. She is driven to create a more sustainable world, founding  in 2018 the world’s first and only poetry exhibition in Antarctica, the Antarctic Poetry Exhibition, to raise awareness of the impact of climate change on the Antarctic region.
